Analisa-se a panor\u00e2mica mundial da sua produ\u00e7\u00e3o, referindo as suas exig\u00eancias nos aspectos edafo-clim\u00e1ticos, necessidades h\u00eddricas e t\u00e9cnicas de explora\u00e7\u00e3o. O clima do Algarve, de transi\u00e7\u00e3o para o subtropicalismo, permite, em locais escolhidos, a cultura do maracujazeiro em sistema de regadio. Justifica-se a necessidade dos cuidados a ter nessa escolha, exemplificando com os dados clim\u00e1ticos de dois postos situados na unidade de explora\u00e7\u00e3o da Lameira.
