Influence of tourism as a stress factor on the evolution of land use and occupation in municipalities of the coast of Santa Catarina

RESUMO
A atividade econômica pode determinar a forma de desenvolvimento do uso e ocupação do solo em um município. Porto Belo e Bombinhas, localizados no litoral centro-norte do Estado de Santa Catarina, têm como principal fonte de renda o turismo, que atrai anualmente milhares de visitantes em busca de belezas naturais. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a evolução do uso e ocupação do solo nos municípios de Bombinhas e Porto Belo (SC), que têm o turismo como principal fator estressor ao meio ambiente. Para tanto, foi realizada a classificação do uso e ocupação do solo, através da utilização de imagens de satélite, que geraram mapas para o período entre 1986 e 2017. A classificação do uso do solo mostrou que nas proximidades da costa, a cobertura vegetal manteve-se preservada e a agricultura e pastagem foram se distanciando para o interior, sendo substituídas pela urbanização em áreas próximas ao litoral. Os municípios, apesar de vizinhos, apresentaram características diferentes ao longo do período estudado. Enquanto Porto Belo apresentou áreas ocupadas por cultivos agrícolas e pastagem, Bombinhas não registrou estes usos ao fim do período de estudo, tornando-se um município ocupado basicamente por vegetação e área urbana.

ABSTRACT
The economic activity can determine the development of land use and occupation in a municipality. Porto Belo and Bombinhas, located in the center-north coast of the State of Santa Catarina, have the tourism as main source of income, which attracts thousands of visitors annually in search of natural beauty. This paper aimed to evaluate the evolution of occupation and land use in the municipalities of Bombinhas and Porto Belo (SC), which have the tourism as main stressing factor to the environment. In order to do so, the classification of land use and occupation was carried out through the use of satellite images, which generated maps for the period between 1986 and 2017. The classification of land use showed that in the vicinity of the coast, the vegetal cover remained preserved and agriculture and pasture were distancing towards the interior, being replaced by the urbanization in areas near the coast. The municipalities, although neighbors, presented different characteristics throughout the studied period. While Porto Belo presented areas occupied by agricultural crops and pasture, Bombinhas did not register these uses at the end of the study period, becoming a municipality mainly occupied by vegetation and urban area.
